The Program in Cinematography is a 6-month intensive course designed to train aspiring filmmakers in the art and technique of visual storytelling through the camera. This program focuses on developing a strong understanding of camera operations, lighting, composition, and cinematic aesthetics.



Students will learn how to capture compelling visuals using professional cameras, lenses, and lighting setups. The curriculum covers both technical and creative aspects of cinematography, including shot design, framing, camera movement, and mood creation through light and color.



With a strong emphasis on hands-on learning, students will work on practical assignments, live shoots, and short film projects, gaining real-world experience in on-set environments. By the end of the program, students will have a professional showreel that reflects their visual storytelling skills.

Principles of Optics as applied to Photography.
Filters & Composition, study of colour temperature, depth of field.
Various types of light sources and their practical application.
Basics of lighting; detailed practicals on various types of lighting situations.
Study of movie cameras and various types of film stock.
The grammar of single camera and multi-camera placements.
Roots and reasons for selecting a camera style.
Study of the video cameras and principles of videography.
Assignments and group projects for students.
